Summer Jazz Workshop (10 Days)
Monday – Friday: 2:00 – 6:00 pm

This two-week course develops foundations of jazz improvisation, theory, and history. Students enrolled in the workshop study with some of L.A.’s great jazz teachers, gain a comprehensive knowledge of jazz traditions, participate in daily master classes, learn to play pieces by jazz masters, and perform in an end-of-workshop concert.
Age 12+. All instruments welcome, no previous jazz experience required.

Chamber Music Intensive (8 Days)
Sunday – Sunday: 10:30 am – 5:00 pm

Tuition: $600
For advanced students, PCM’s Chamber Music Intensive offers a deep dive into chamber music. The Intensive is led by Chamber Music Department Chair, Aimée Kreston and joined by other nationally recognized coaches and teachers. The week includes daily coachings, rehearsals, guest artist recitals, masterclasses, lectures, and more. It is an intense but fun week!
Age 11+. Audition required.

Jazz Combo (8 Weeks)

Instructor: Amy Rowe
Tuition: $240
Students participate in jazz combos composed of rhythm sections (i.e. piano, guitar, drum set, and percussion) and various wind instruments. Students of all instruments may enroll. Literature for each group may be an assortment of standard jazz repertoire as well as arrangements and original compositions.
Age 12+. At least two years of previous instrumental study required.

Music Theory Prep (10 Weeks)
Tuesdays: 5:30 – 6:00 pm
Instructor: Renee Gilormini
Tuition: $200
Music Theory Prep is for young students who are just starting lessons and not yet proficient at reading music. Topics include: treble and bass clefs, time signatures, rhythm, notation, and an introduction to famous composers.
Age 9+.

Music Theory Enrichment (10 Weeks)
Tuesdays: 6:00 – 6:30 pm
Instructor: Renee Gilormini
Tuition: $200
This course is designed for students who have taken theory at PCM. It reviews concepts learned in previous classes to prepare students for the fall.
This class is for students who have completed Theory Prep through Level 2.

Introduction to Accordion (8 Weeks)
Saturdays: 1:30 – 2:30 pm
Instructor: Sharon Weed
Tuition: $200
In this intergenerational class, students learn accordion basics, techniques, and simple tunes.
Age 12 to adult. Students must bring their own accordion.

Jazz Kittens (8 Weeks)
Saturdays: 11:00 – 11:45 am
Instructor: Sherry Luchette
Tuition: $200
Jazz Kittens includes singing, movement, instruments, and storytelling with Sherry Luchette, author of The Flying Jazz Kittens. She will introduce students to swing time, blues form, and great jazz music from all eras.
Age 5 – 8. No prior experience necessary.

Young Musicians Summer Offerings (8 Weeks)
Instructors: Sharon Weed, Mary Alonso, and Sherry Luchette
Tuition: $200
Children experience music in the classroom with parents or caregivers and a teacher through singing, rhyming, listening, moving, using props, and playing small percussion instruments; and are introduced to various styles of music, including classical, folk, jazz, and world music.

Guitar Chamber Music (8 Weeks)
Schedule and Instructors will vary
Tuition: $320
Students are placed into guitar duos, trios, or quartets based on skill level and preference. Groups receive 8, one-hour coaching sessions, a master class, and perform in a final concert. Audition required.

Guitar Suzuki Book 1 (8 Weeks)
Tuesdays: 5:30 – 6:30 pm
Instructors: Adam Pettit, Brian Barany, Bryan Fasola
Tuition: $200
Students play together once a week, reinforcing tone development, technique, and repertoire that has been learned in their private lessons. Students develop the rhythmic and musicianship skills necessary to play in an ensemble.

Virtual String Workshop (5 Days)
Monday – Friday: 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Violin/Viola Suzuki students level 1+ explore styles, genres, technology, and improvisation.

All Things Strings (5 Days)
Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
