2025 Vroman’s Summer Concert Series

This past summer, PCM teamed up once again with Vroman’s Bookstore to bring live music to the community through the Vroman’s Summer Concert Series. Held at the Vroman’s Paseo under the afternoon sky, the series offered two vibrant concerts.

Both concerts were sold out, welcoming an average of 120 attendees at each event. From toddlers to seniors, and even a few pets, audiences of all ages gathered to enjoy an afternoon of great music and company.

In July, the Chair of the World Music Department, Megan Shung, organized a concert with PCM’s Community Liaison, Katherine Ella Wood, that featured the rich and rhythmic music from Brazil. The concert featured PCM faculty and friends, with Katherine Ella Wood on vocals, Danny Janklow on saxophone and flute, Jonathan Richards on bass, Marcel Camargo on guitar, and Felipe Fraga on percussion.

The August concert featured a variety of jazz standards, an original composition by faculty member Aaron Janik, and pieces by Cannonball Adderley, who was a collaborator of faculty member Roy McCurdy. The concert featured an all-PCM faculty combo, including the legendary Roy McCurdy on drums, Nicole McCabe on saxophone, Sam Hirsh on keyboard, Aaron Janik on trumpet, and Ahmet Türkmenoğlu on bass.

Our biggest thanks to all the incredible musicians who performed, and to everyone who came to support live music in our community. We hope to see you again in summer 2026!
