Angela Lin
Dr. Angela Lin is a Southern California based pianist, educator, and collaborative artist. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California, where she studied with Dr. Stewart Gordon and served as a Teaching Assistant in the Keyboard Studies Department. Her previous mentors include Antoinette Perry, Dr. Alan Smith, and Dr. David Kaplan.
Dr. Lin currently serves as an adjunct instructor at North Orange County Community College, where she specializes in emeritus education, working closely with adult learners and fostering musical growth. She is also the Virtual Festival Chair for the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, supporting statewide programming and student opportunities.
An active performer, Dr. Lin collaborates regularly with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs, and film ensembles across the Los Angeles area. She was recently featured as a guest artist at the 2024 Asian Classical Music Initiative Conference and is a strong advocate for contemporary and community-centered performance. Her musical work extends beyond the stage through outreach initiatives, including performances in hospitals and educational seminars designed to connect music with wellness and accessibility.
As a presenter, Dr. Lin has appeared at national conferences such as MTNA and NAfME, speaking on topics including performance anxiety, physical wellness, injury prevention, and financial sustainability for musicians. Her approach bridges artistry with practical tools that support healthy and sustainable careers.
Dr. Lin is a prizewinner of several international competitions, including the Charleston International Music Competition and the Young Soloist International Music Competition. Her students have gone on to pursue studies at leading institutions, including UCLA and the Manhattan School of Music.
