Introduction

Established in 1984, PASADENA CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC (PCM) is an independent, nonprofit, nationally-accredited community school whose mission is to educate, advocate, inspire, and share through music study and performance. The Conservatory offers a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses traditional and contemporary music for children and adults. More than 1,200 students attend the school annually and over 3,000 students in schools throughout the Pasadena, CA community benefit from its extensive outreach programs.

Our Vision

The fundamental purpose of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music (PCM) is to provide opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds to learn, perform, and enjoy music.

Our History

Accreditation

PCM is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Precollegiate Arts Schools and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. It also belongs to the National Guild for Community Arts Education and is a member of the Pasadena Arts Council. It hosts a vibrant outreach program and provides master classes, guest-artist recitals, and concerts for the Pasadena community and beyond.

Boards

PCM is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for advisers and former board members to participate and engage with PCM and support the future goals of our school. Members of the advisory council assist in the achievement of the Conservatory’s strategic goals by serving as ambassadors for the school and providing counsel. Emeritus board members are former board members who also assist the Conservatory in achieving its strategic goals.
