Songs About Place

A collection of performances centered on music about landscapes, situs, and geographies.

This concert series aims to provide dynamic public performances rooted in conversations about place. The series has featured a bluegrass band performing their Songs of the San Gabriel Valley; a lively concert of Latin music featuring Justo Almario, Perico Hernandez, and others; a program of traditional and contemporary Armenian music; and a backyard jam with Anthony Wilson and his group The Curators–vocalist and violinist Petra Haden, pianist and organist Larry Goldings, bassist Gabe Noel, and drummer Mark Ferber.
