PCM flute and clarinet students will perform in a public masterclass for Brian Luce, flute, and Jackie Glazier, clarinet, along with the other members of the Arizona Wind Quintet (the faculty woodwind quintet of the University of Arizona).
This masterclass is presented as part of the AWQ’s residency at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.
Bios
Flutist Brian Luce, described as “an authoritative soloist” and praised for his “technical agility” and “lyric power,” has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the globe. A Professor of Music at the University of Arizona, he has served as a principal flutist of orchestras in Texas, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. He won prizes in the National Flute Association, Myrna Brown, Mid-South, and Kingsville young artist competitions. He is a composer, arranger, and producer and is recorded on the Albany, Citadel, and CoSeismic labels.
Jackie Glazier is the Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music. Dr. Glazier has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Europe. She was the winner of the International Clarinet Association Orchestral Competition in 2014 and a finalist at the 2016 Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition. Dr. Glazier has earned degrees from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, University of Florida, and Florida State University.
