Guest artist Esther Yune concludes the 2016-2017 season with a program that pushes the piano and performer to their limits. “Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ”, originally a church cantata by Bach, was adapted by Busoni from SATB chorus for solo piano. The second piece explores a theme with 20 variations. The program culminates with Brahms’s largest single composition for solo piano – The Sonata in f minor.
