A lasting investment in music, community, and future generations.
At PCM, students discover joy, excellence, and community through music. Members of PCM’s Legacy Society are committed to ensuring that continues — for the students of today, and the generations who will follow.
Most members make their commitment through a bequest — a few sentences added to a will that cost nothing during your lifetime. Whatever form your gift takes, the impact on future students and music lovers will be lasting and meaningful.
The most common form of legacy giving. A bequest can be a designated dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a specific asset. It can be established in a new will or as a codicil to an existing will or trust. Contact Melissa Froehlich for sample bequest language to share with your attorney.
Designate PCM as a full or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Contact your insurance carrier to update your beneficiary designation form.
Name PCM as the beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement assets, allowing those funds to transfer at your passing without changing your will or living trust. Request a beneficiary designation form from your IRA administrator.
PCM has partnered with the Pasadena Community Foundation to offer Charitable Gift Annuities. A CGA provides a secure, fixed income for life while making a meaningful gift to PCM. You may also receive an income tax deduction, and funding through appreciated stock can help avoid capital gains tax.
Your bank can provide a beneficiary designation form to leave all or a portion of a checking or savings account to PCM. You can also instruct your investment company to transfer holdings to PCM at the time of your passing.
“It’s a way to make things grow.”
— Fritzie Culick, former PCM faculty member and Legacy Society member
Fritzie Culick joined PCM’s faculty in 1985, when the school was just eight teachers and forty students in a church basement. For four decades, she stayed close to PCM — teaching, performing, serving on boards, and watching the school grow into what it is today. Fritzie and her husband Fred included PCM in their estate plans because, as she put it, giving this way is ‘a way to make things grow.’ Fritzie passed away in May 2025. In September, her family held her Celebration of Life in the newly opened Webster Amphitheater she had helped make possible.
If you have already included PCM in your estate plans, please let us know so that we can thank and recognize you, and extend invitations to exclusive events for members of the Legacy Society. You can download our gift notification form here and send to the address below:
