A student’s time at PCM is about more than weekly lessons. It’s the Friday night recitals that build one’s confidence, the friendships that develop on stage and in classrooms, the inspiration of master classes with world-class musicians, and the chance to be part of a community that celebrates music together.
Thanks to donations from our generous community, PCM is able to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of operating our school, ensuring accessibility through scholarships and providing an exceptional and enriched learning experience.
-
Faculty & Programs
PCM’s 90+ faculty are all working musicians who record for film and television, play with the LA Phil, LA Chamber Orchestra, and Pasadena Symphony, perform as chamber musicians and jazz artists, and more. Annual Fund gifts help PCM recruit and retain exceptional teachers across all 11 departments.
-
Scholarships & Financial Aid
Each year, PCM awards more than $130,000 in tuition assistance to 10% of our school-age students who demonstrate commitment to music study. Donors can direct their Annual Fund gift and provide support for PCM’s scholarship program.
-
Facilities & Operations
From the newly opened Learning Center and Webster Amphitheater to our signature Barrett Hall and historic main building, Annual Fund gifts help keep PCM’s spaces safe, well-maintained, and inspiring for students and audiences alike.

Community Outreach
PCM provides free, weekly music instruction to all ~550 students at Longfellow Elementary, a Title I school in Pasadena. Annual Fund support helps sustain this program, as well as other free programs and events that extend PCM’s reach beyond our campus.
Patill Daghlian was nine years old when she played her first Winter concert at PCM. Her arms weren’t quite long enough for a full-sized flute, so her teacher recommended a curved flute. Along with students who played a variety of instruments, Patill performed “Dona Nobis Pacem” as the audience sang along.
“I remember feeling deeply connected to the other performers and the audience. It was such a beautiful moment of togetherness and community.”
— Patill Daghlian, PCM scholarship student
Music became central to Patill’s life at PCM. She went on to form the Daghlian Trio with her siblings, performing Armenian music for Pasadena audiences and giving benefit concerts for communities in need. Today she is a doctoral student in physics at Caltech. She credits PCM with shaping not just her musicianship, but her sense of what community means.
Experiences like Patill’s are made possible by donors who believe that music creates a sense of belonging and provides meaningful opportunities to come together.
Every year, the collective generosity of our community strengthens our school and the experiences PCM provides for students of all ages — supporting outstanding faculty, scholarships and financial aid, innovative curriculum, high-quality facilities, and free community programs that extend PCM’s reach beyond our campus.
We are deeply grateful to the individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions make PCM a vibrant, welcoming, and inspiring place to learn, perform, and enjoy music together. Click below to view our supporters who made gifts to PCM between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.
