PCM is proud to announce the public launch of its Common Ground campaign. In this time when so much divides us, learning, performing, and enjoying music provides substantive opportunities to leave divisions behind, forge connections, and find common ground.

At the start of every summer, students and faculty alike look forward to getting together to learn beautiful chamber music pieces and present them in a final recital at the end of the week-long intensive. Now that most pandemic restrictions have been lifted, students were finally able to return to campus this summer to participate in the intensive for the first time in three years.

The Adult String Ensemble, introduced during the 2021-2022 school year, provides adult string students of all levels the opportunity to come together and play pieces they enjoy in a group setting. We talked to the ensemble’s creator and coach, PCM string faculty member Erika Walczak, about what it has been like to watch them grow over the past year and why this group is so special.
