Jeff Silverman

Originally from Miami, Florida, Jeff Silverman received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education, with an emphasis in jazz guitar, from Florida International University. Before moving to southern California in 2002, Jeff taught K-5 general music for five years in the Miami-Dade County school system. Since arriving in L.A., Jeff has worked professionally as an individual and group format private guitar instructor, session guitarist, studio engineer and music technology teacher.

In addition to his background in early childhood music education, Jeff has also taught students of college age and older how to produce and record their musical compositions as a Pro Tools Certified lecture and lab instructor at The Los Angeles Recording School in Hollywood and as a technician and product marketing specialist for leading music technology companies such as: M-Audio, Ableton, Avid, Native Instruments, Focusrite, Roland/BOSS and Yamaha.

Currently, Jeff divides his time between teaching group guitar classes at Longfellow Elementary as part of PCM’s Young Musicians department, as a live performer and session guitarist, as well as working as a producer, mix engineer and music technology educator and consultant.
