Hank Mehren is a Los Angeles-raised pianist, vocalist, composer, and educator whose work is rooted in song-craft, spontaneity, and musical storytelling. His persistence, discipline, and kind hearted nature combined have been the cornerstone in maintaining a steady career throughout his life from gigging, teaching, recording, producing, arranging, and musical directing. In 2017, he earned his Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Performance from California State University, Northridge. From 2022 to late 2025, Hank toured nationally and internationally as a pianist, organist, and vocalist with Pokey LaFarge, performing over 100 shows per year at major venues and festivals worldwide, such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Summer Jamboree in Italy, and the beautiful Paradiso in Amsterdam. Hank performs regularly at respected Los Angeles venues, private events, and curated concert settings across a wide stylistic range, from jazz and Tin Pan Alley–influenced repertoire to roots-based and contemporary material. Guided by a deep love of music, Hank brings sensitivity, humor, and intention to every performance.
