Sounds Unknown: The Black Violin
Pasadena Conservatory of Music
100 North Hill Avenue
Pasadena, California 91106
Presented by Salastina Music Society
From music by the mythic figure of Chevalier de St. Georges to the premiere of Derrick Spiva’s “As I Heard When I Was Young,” this concert tells the stories of just a few black composers’ and performers’ contributions to classical music.
