Hsin-Tai Liu
Born in Taiwan, Hsin-Tai Liu moved with his family to the United States in 1985. A year later, at the age of nine he began piano lessons with instructor Evelyn Chang. Ms. Chang soon recognized that her young pupil possessed outstanding musical talent. To better develop these natural gifts, Ms. Chang referred Mr. Liu to Maestro Earle C. Voorhies who was his instructor and mentor for six years.
Mr. Liu has won two first Place Awards in the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (in Chopin and Open Categories). He performed in a Chopin recital at the 1990 State Convention of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and also performed a Mozart recital at their 1990 July convention in Sacramento.
Mr. Liu has been recognized for his extraordinary talents by the Young Artists Peninsula Music Festival. He was the finalist in the Dorothy A. Andersen International Competition in Seattle , Washington. He has won the first place award in the LA Liszt Competition.
Mr. Liu next studied with Alexander Rosenberg, formerly of the Conservatory of Music in Moscow . Later on he studied under the direction of the highly esteemed professor Eduardo Delgado and Professor, Yin Cheng-Zong, both gifted concert pianists in their own right.
Mr. Liu works closely with artists both in Taiwan and the United States to promote culture and fine arts to the younger generations. He joined the PCM faculty in 2006.
