FRETS AFIRE (PCM’s LAYGO & Stuttgart, Germany’s Guitarreando) is a dynamic group of 35 teenage guitarists from Germany and Pasadena. Blending sounds of power and subtlety, their music is an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, and rock.

The California tour revives PCM’s 2013-2014 cultural exchange program with the Stuttgarter Musikschule (SMS). Throughout the two week tour, PCM and SMS students will rehearse, participate in coaching sessions, master classes, and perform together in joint concerts. They will also be joining students from the California Conservatory of Guitar for shows in Northern California.

Next summer, LAYGO will travel to Stuttgart for a European tour with SMS. This exchange program allows junior and high school age students to connect through music and culture, forging friendships that last beyond the exchange.
