AVoLA’s spring concert, Breaking Free, explores the universal yearning for freedom from a variety of perspectives — from the wistful recollection of the freedom of youth (John Corigliano’s setting of Dylan Thomas’s Fern Hill) to the joyful anticipation of heavenly freedom (Shawn Kirchner’s Three American Songs). The concert also features pieces by Vivaldi and Pärt.
