On February 18, artists from the upcoming Mansions & Music concert offer a behind-the-scenes look at pieces they will be performing. Pieces include Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C minor, Pavane pour une infante défunte and Alborada del gracioso (from Miroirs) by Ravel, and The Swan and Allegro Appassionata by Saint-Saëns.
The demonstration will be followed by a reception in Kelly Library.

Mansions & Music Preludes are part open rehearsal and part lecture-demonstration. Preludes provide an intimate opportunity for music lovers to learn more about the repertoire, composers, and historical context of the programs. They are designed to enhance one’s musical understanding of Mansions concerts, and are accessible and engaging even for those unable to attend the Mansions concert.
