Most violinists (and audiences) know the Chaconne from Bach’s D minor Partita — but what about his equally impressive E Major and B minor Partitas?
Join acclaimed violinist Ayano Ninomiya to explore these lesser-known works, featuring movements from the E major Partita performed by PCM students Olivia Hsu and Florence Lau; and a full performance of the B minor Partita by Ninomiya herself. The program includes commentary on the historical context, interpretive choices, and what makes these pieces so compelling for both players and audiences.
Ayano Ninomiya has been praised by The New York Times for her “deeply communicative and engrossing” performances. She has appeared at major festivals including Marlboro, Ravinia, and Prussia Cove, and currently serves on the violin faculty at the New England Conservatory of Music.
