Albert Stanley
Lauded by Opera News for his “clear, natural delivery” and “all too convincing” demeanor on stage, Singaporean-American Tenor Albert Stanley can be heard out and about in the greater Los Angeles area across a multitude of genres.
Albert earned his Bachelor’s degree at Carnegie Mellon University before continuing on to the University of Southern California for his Master’s, where he studied with the inimitable Thomas Michael Allen and Lynn Helding. His time at USC ignited a passion in Albert for science-informed vocal pedagogy, which he pairs with a holistic approach to teaching. The end result is a tailor-made approach for each student’s unique instrument.
In his career Albert has been fortunate to debut a handful of roles with the Houston-based ensemble, Opera in the Heights, including Al (Kassandra by Anthony Brandt) and Willy (Cabaret of Shadows by Laura Schwendinger). In the more standard repertoire, Albert has sung roles ranging from the titular Hoffman in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffman to Bill in Jonathan Dove’s Flight. Outside of the classical world, Albert has a strong background in jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary music.
