Wesley Chu

Born in Calgary, Dr. Wesley Chu has been playing piano since 3. He completed Grades 1-10 of the RCM Examinations by age 5 and the highest level of the RCM by age 10, the youngest pianist to ever do so. Wesley was a featured performer for many celebrities and significant figures such as Queen Elizabeth II, and performed his own orchestral-choral composition Christmas in Bethlehem for Pope John Paul II and an audience of 8000 during the 1999 Christmas Celebration in the Vatican City. Wesley has also collaborated with popular singers such as Andy Lau (劉德華) and William So (蘇永康).

Wesley is an active performer, composer and pedagogue in Los Angeles. As a teacher, he believes that all forms and areas of knowledge benefit and nourish each other, and that understanding any concept and mastering any skill is best done from a multitude of angles.

Dr. Chu earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts as an International Artist Fellow at USC, majoring in Piano, Composition, Arts Leadership, and Music Theory while studying with Dr. Stewart Gordon. Wesley is the founder of Zenkora Studios, the multimedia fantasy production company, and a founding member of the Super Piano Brothers, a groundbreaking piano duo specializing in self-arranged and composed media music. Wesley currently teaches at Fried Music and at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, both top-level music academies in California. He premiered his piano concerto in May 2024 and his symphony Paracelsus in May 2025.
