Hester Taylor
As a Traditional and Suzuki-certified instructor, Hester Taylor began her teaching career at the Colburn School of Performing Arts where she had the pleasure of sharing the joys of music with countless students. She believes in fostering student’s growth and success along their musical journey, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to reach their full potential.
Hester’s expertise lies in violin performance and instruction, where she enables and inspires students to develop their technical proficiency and artistic expression. Additionally, she excels in chamber music coaching, helping students cultivate their musical collaboration skills and deepen their understanding of ensemble playing.
A native of Los Angeles, Hester spent her childhood attending Colburn where she studied with Aimee Kreston. She was a student of the Los Angeles High School for the Arts and began her studies at the University of Southern California at 16 under the tutelage of Margaret Batjer and Midori Goto.
Throughout Hester’s career, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Hester is deeply passionate about music education and believes in its transformative power. It is her mission to instill a lifelong love and appreciation for music in her students and to empower them with the tools they need to succeed not just as musicians, but as well-rounded individuals.
