James Labrador was born in Glendora and grew up in Pasadena. He attended K-8 at Chandler School, and he attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He is an Eagle Scout and an athlete. He started studying piano at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music with Enrique Gonzalez-Medina, and he has studied piano since 2013 with Dr. Vatche Mankerian. He has also taken Master Classes with Peter Fang, Carl Matthes, Lucinda Carver, and Louise Thomas. He particularly enjoys playing Chopin and Beethoven. He will attend Boston College in the Fall, where he intends to major in Computer Science while also pursuing philosophy and continuing music lessons.
