Join us for an evening of live music and panel discussion on the role of Asian-Americans in modern-day media.
Showcasing works by award-winning composers Christopher Tin (Civilization, To Shiver the Sky), Niall Taro Ferguson (inyo county echoes, the letter), and Toby Chu (Bao, Legends of Oz), performed on cutting-edge low-latency software Soundjack by the Super Piano Brothers.
Featuring a panel of industry-acclaimed professionals: recording engineer Louis Ng, and composers Niall Taro Ferguson and Sara Sithi-Amnuai, moderated by Street Symphony Artistic Director Dustin Seo.
About the Artists:
Composer, arranger and pianist WESLEY CHU has performed for audiences across the globe. He has written music in every style and medium and is the chief arranger for the piano duo Super Piano Brothers. He holds a doctorate in music composition and performance from the University of Southern California where he was an International Artist Fellow, as well as degrees from New England Conservatory. He serves on the faculty of 88 Keys Music Academy in Arcadia.
OSKAR YAO is an international award-winning pianist and ambassador for classical music. He graduated from the Columbia-Juilliard dual degree program, studying at The Juilliard School and while majoring in Financial Economics and Math at Columbia University. Oskar is a co-founder of Super Piano Brothers and regularly performs and arranges for the group. He currently works in Capital Markets & Strategy at Google, having previously held roles in Equity Research and Investment Banking.
Producer, composer, and conductor ALEXANDER ZHU has created music heard around the world on platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Cartoon Network, and TF1. As a performer and recording artist, he has worked in every style on stages in four continents. He holds a doctorate in music composition and performance from the University of Southern California as well as a bachelor’s degree from New England Conservatory. Alexander serves on the faculties of Pierce College and the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.
