Melissa Frey

Melissa Frey received her bachelor’s of music in bassoon performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music then went on to pursue a master’s degree at the University of North Texas. After completing her schooling, Ms. Frey taught extensively in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area and held the position of adjunct professor of bassoon at Texas A & M University-Commerce. An active freelance musician, she has performed with a variety of ensembles, including the Shreveport, East Texas, and Richardson symphonies. After moving to Los Angeles in 2002, Ms. Frey continued to teach and perform with local ensembles such as the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, California Philharmonic, and the Bakersfield Symphony. She was also bassoon specialist for the Arcadia High School music program from 2006 until 2012 and joined the PCM faculty in 2008.
